For attention of Captains, Cricket and Ground Chairmen
The batting crease must be extended to a length of 16 feet ie 3 foot 8 inches either side of return crease.
Stumps must be pitched prior to the toss with the back edge of the crease going through the middle of the stumps.
Bowlers, and fielders, should refrain from marking the outfield with their boots and bowlers and asked to use the bowling marks provided by the umpires and/or clubs. Fielders are asked to replace immediately any divots that they may create when fielding balls
Batsmen are asked to refrain from making unnecessarily long and deep marks on the batting crease.
The pitch must be brushed and remarked during the tea interval and should be repeated if the first innings extends beyond the normal tea interval.
The pitch should be rolled between innings if requested by the captain of the side fielding first for a maximum of 7 minutes
Each ground must have a clock that is working and readable from the pitch along with a bell.
Boundaries should be clearly marked preferably with a rope. Any flags that are used must be sited beyond the rope/white line
Scorers must be provided with signal lights or markers.
All players and umpires should be provided with a clean and tidy room that is free from clutter and with a lockable door.
These basic requirements will be checked by the umpires at every game and will be reported on the umpires’ card. Clubs which fail to meet these standards will be contacted and requested to put in order.
Thank you.
