DISCIPLINARY REPORT - AGREED ACTION

A Disciplinary Report has been received from the 1st XI match between Southport & Birkdale and Formby on 29 August.

The player, Scott Lees was reported for verbally dissenting at an umpiring decision.

Southport & Birkdale CC did not support the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee for disciplinary action, which therefore resulted in a Disciplinary Hearing held at Liverpool CC on 15 September.

The Disciplinary Panel imposed a two weeks ban for the offence in addition to the suspended ban of one week from an offence committed in 2014. The three weeks ban will commence at midnight on Friday 18 September (two weeks will be carried forward the the start of the 2016 season) and a further two weeks ban suspended until the end of the 2016 season was imposed.

The Panel was also asked to determine the appropriate penalty for reported dangerous bowling in the match against Highfield on 12 September. The panel imposed a further one week ban suspended to the end of the 2016 season, ie a total of three weeks suspended until the end of the 2016 season.

The club has decided not to appeal the decisions.
