FIXTURES 2016

Date: 13th October 2015

The outcome of the fixture consultation exercise was reported at the End of Season SGM

Eight clubs had contributed to the consultation and from this small sample it is clear that there is no desire to move from the usual process of accepting certain basic criteria together with some club criteria when grounds are unavailable for L&DCC cricket matches. Management Committee took the relatively low level of return to mean that clubs were, on the whole, satisfied with the way that fixtures were being generated. The principle is to allow for these by arranging for club 1st XIs to play away from home and for the 2nd XIs to rearrange their fixtures.

The basic criteria set out in the consultation document are:

County Cricket Club requirements as per Premier League compliance;

Bank Holiday Saturdays, not Mondays, to be used for traditional local derbys and other fixtures to minimise travel for away teams;

Maximum runs of three home/away fixtures and in the final four weeks of the season all teams to have two at home and two away.

The needs of Lancashire and Glamorgan should be known early in December and before then (by no later than 27 November) all clubs need to have notified the dates for special events, eg. Liverpool CC's tennis tournament, Caldy CC's Rugby Sevens etc.  Please contact Fixture Secretary Rob Durand by email with the details.

Last year we revisited the 1st & 2nd XI fixtures three times for late requests and we do not intend to do this again, therefore any requests received after 27 November will not be considered.  A final reminder will be posted on this website two weeks earlier listing the requests already received.
