DISCIPLINARY REPORTS - AGREED ACTION - ADDENDUM re LEIGH 1st X1

Date: 29th June 2018

Several disciplinary reports have been received and dealt with by the respective clubs.

Unfortunately disciplinary offences have been reported on several occasions recently and the only way to deal with them is to list them in alphabetic order.  To say that the Disciplinary Committee is very concerned is an understatement and it appears that we will need to impose the severest penalties that the regulations allow if this continues.

Lytham CC v Bootle CC - 2nd of June - Josh Davies (Lytham CC) - equipment abuse - one week ban from 8th June - a further one week suspended to end of 2018 season.

Leigh CC v Darwin CC - LCF KO - 20th May - Tom Foster (Leigh CC) - repeated dissent - one week ban from 8th June - a further three weeks suspended to end of 2019 season.

Leigh CC v Darwin CC - LCF KO - 20th May - Hedley Molyneux (Leigh CC) - dissent with abusive language- two weeks ban from 8th June - a further two weeks suspended to end of 2019 season.

Leigh CC v Wallasey CC - LCF KO - 3rd June - Ryan Housley (Leigh CC) - dissent with abusive language- two weeks ban from 8th June - a further two weeks suspended to end of 2018 season.

St Helens Town CC v Alder CC - 1st XI Div 2 - 2rd June - Philip Murgatroyd (St Helens Town CC) - dissent - one week ban from 15th June - two weeks suspended to end of 2018 season.

St Helens Town CC v Alder CC - 1st XI Div 2 - 2rd June - Simon Taylor (St Helens Town CC Chairman) - umpire abuse - four weeks ban from 8th June - four weeks suspended to end of 2018 season.

Leigh CC v Ormskirk CC - 1st XI Prem - 9th June - Josh Bohannon (Ormskirk CC) - inappropriate physical contact and abusive obscene language to another player. As a County contracted player ECB has agreed to a three match ban and a one weeks suspension from professional cricket commencing midnight 15th June.  In addition a suspended two match ban until the end of 2019..

All the clubs imposing the agreed bans are to be thanked for their cooperation

As a consequence of three Leigh 1st X1 players being subject to Disciplinary action in the early part of the 2018 season, officials from the club were asked to meet with the Management Committee. They were informed that this was unacceptable and were told that for the rest of season any further cases of indiscipline dealt with under the L&DCC procedures relating to Leigh 1st X1 players, full tariff bans would be applied and not involve the use of any suspended weeks.
