Luke Procter has signed for Firwood Bootle and should make his debut alongside Stephen Parry in Saturday's ECB Premier League game against Lytham, who will themselves have Oliver Newby in their line-up.
The 23-year-old Lancashire all-rounder has been signed as cover for Will Purser, who is injured, and he is looking forward to making his Liverpool Competition debut.
"I signed three or four days ago now," said Procter, after taking two for 15 in Lancashire's Friends Life t20 defeat at Derby on Thursday. "Stephen Parry got in touch with Bootle and said I'd play a few games for them because they need an extra seamer and I do a bit with the bat as well.
"Pazza says it's a good club with a good wicket," added Procter. "I have played at Wadham Road before - I think it was for Oldham in the Lancashire Cup and I think we lost. But the Competition is reputed to be a good league and it will be a new challenge for me. I'm available for Saturday at Lytham."
