MIKE TAYLOR (Umpire)

Date: 21st February 2013

Sad news

It is with great sadness that we report that Mike Taylor, an umpire known to many, passed away this morning.

Michael Ernest Taylor (80), died peacefully in Willowbrook Hospice after a long illness.

Mike played cricket for Delph and Dobcross CC in the Huddersfield League before moving to Prescot CC.  He quickly took up umpiring and officiated in the Southport and District League, the Merseyside Cricket Competition and the Liverpool Competition. He always umpired with a smile on his face and had a kind word for everyone. A member of the MCUA, he will be sadly missed.

Our sympathy and prayers go out to his wife Kath, his sons Jonathan and Simon (a current umpire), daughters in law Kirsty and Samantha and grandchildren Henry and Ellis.
