Wins for Northern, New Brighton and Rep sides and call up for Simon Kerrigan

Northern progress to the last eight of the Royal London Club Championship after beating Walmley by 2 runs.

Northern 196-9 (45) Walmley 194-8 (45). Northern are now away to Sandiacre Town in the next round.

New Brighton are in the Semi finals of the Cheshire Cup after beating Brooklands by 116 runs.

Congratulations to Simon Kerrigan on his call up to the England squad. All best wishes to Simon from everyone in the Comp.

The Med Imaging Liverpool Competition earned a place in the final of the Readers Lancashire Inter-League Competition with a commanding eight wicket win over the Lancashire County League. Skippered by Ian Robinson the Comp side followed up their quarter final win against the Bolton League with a clinical display at Brook Lane, bowling out the visitors for 87.

After Will Purser and Chris Stenhouse had bowled tight opening spells, Ryan Parry (3 for 17), John Dotters ( 2 for 15) and Greg Butterworth ( 3 for 17) proceeded to bowl out the opposition.

Despiter losing an early wicket Greg Beaver (37) and Chris Davies (36 not out) saw the Comp through to the win in just 14.3 overs.
