U21's IN EXCITING WIN AGAINST MCC

Jones hits a ton and helped by Lavelle lifts U21 over the line.

The Med Imaging L&DCC under 21’s led by Mattie McKiernan pulled off a thrilling seven wicket victory against an MCC team in the Annual fixture, this year played at Wallasey CC.

The MCC set the Competition a formidable target of 272 to win after James Drummond (50), Jack Williams (61) and Andrew Clarke (86 not out) had helped them compile 271 for 5 off their allotted 50 overs. Danny Edwards was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 43.

Joe Noctor (60) gave the reply early impetus and Dane Williams added 36 before the Ormskirk pairing of Michael Jones and George Lavelle came together with 101 needed off 15 overs. The two youngsters then batted faultlessly to carry their side to victory with Lavelle finishing on 48 not out and Jones reaching his hundred (103 not out) with the winning hit, a six over long on, with eight balls remaining.
