Over 200 guests attended the 2015 Med Imaging Liverpool and District Cricket Competition Annual Dinner and Presentation Night at Bootle CC to see all the Division and Cup Winners presented with trophies.

The evening, expertly compered by Paul Edwards, featured guest speaker Vic Marks who, having done his homework, said that he was proud to be speaking in the birthplace of Billy J Kramer, Keith Chegwin and Jamie Carragher. Having played for Somerset with Ian Botham, Viv Richards and Brian Close he had a fund of stories to tell about his time in County Cricket.

A special award was made to Ray Rigby on his retirement from the umpiring ranks, winning him a standing ovation.

The three Player of the Season Awards went to:

Premier Division               David While (New Brighton)

First Division                    Sion Morris (Colwyn Bay)

Second Division               Jon Stone (Burscough)

The one fundraising event of the night was a game of heads and tails (won by Danny Cartwright from Newton Le Willows) with a collection taken to support the Opening Up campaign, set up to encourage greater wellbeing through cricket, highlighting the importance of sport to mental health. The campaign originally set up at Sefton Park, initially for Liverpool Competition clubs, is proving to be in demand in other cricket leagues in Lancashire and Yorkshire.

The collection raised the magnificent sum of £734.89p

Thank you to everyone involved.
