Bootle go top in the Premier Division after a six wicket win against Northern, Chris Liptrot doing the damage with 7 for 46. Colwyn Bay move into second spot with a commanding 152 run win at home to Rainford and Leigh, with Mattie McKiernan taking 6 for 41 beat Formby by five wickets. Elsewhere there were wins for Ormskirk, New Brighton and Wallasey.

Burscough won the top of the table clash against Highfield in Division 1 by 73 runs, helped by half centuries from Navdeep Anja and Alan Murray. The remainder of the action saw wins for Fleetwood Hesketh, Orrell, Northop Hall, Southport and Birkdale and Wigan.

St Helens Town and Parkfield both maintained their 100% records in Division 2. St Helens beat Wavertree by 36 runs and Parkfield triumphed over Hightown St Mary’s by 54 runs. Liverpool won at Caldy and Old Xaverians beat Southport Trinity.

One other outstanding performance this Saturday came in a 2nd X1 match at Prestatyn where Newton Le Willows and Lancashire U13 youngster Ben Walkden hit 101 not out. Well done.
