NORTHERN BEAT ORMSKIRK TO JOIN THEM ON TOP

Burscough and Wigan make running in Division 1 ; Slkelmersdale and Old Xaverians lead Division 2

PREMIER In possibly the most open Premier Division for years, Northern share top spot with Ormskirk after winning their clash at Moor Park whilst Lytham gained ground with the win over Bootle. Elsewhere there were wins for Colwyn Bay against Birkenhead Park. Formby at Rainford and Leigh at Rainhill.

DIVISION 1 Burscough's win against Southport and Birkdale keeps them on top with Wigan, after triumphing in the local derby against Highfield, just behind. Ainsdale beat Fleetwood Hesketh, Orrell won against Maghull, and Norley Hall won the Welsh affair against Prestatyn. Sefton Park beat Newton Le Willows to go third.

DIVISION 2 Skelmersdale are top after winning against Sutton with Old Xaverians in second by beating Wavertree. St Helens Town slip to third after losing at Alder and there were wins for Liverpool against Parkfield Liscard, Southport Trinity over Hightown St Mary's and Spring View against Caldy.
