PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME GETS UNDERWAY

Ninth year of development for Comp youngsters

The Liverpool Competition Player Development Programme enters its ninth year on Saturday 20 January when 45 players from 31 Clubs will begin ten weeks of quality coaching at St Margaret’s Cricket Centre in Liverpool. Funded primarily out of the fines paid by clubs during the 2016 season the programme delivers two 2 hour sessions each Saturday to two cohorts of U13/U15’s and U16/U18’s.

The programme is led by Steve Critchley (LCB Age Group Coach and Course Tutor) working together with experienced coaches Mark Aspin, Sam Holt, Chris Chambers and James Cole.

Eric Hadfield, L&DCC President said “The development of young players in our league was a priority for Ted Williams our former Chairman when he started this programme. His namesake John Williams, our current Chairman, has the same beliefs and we are pleased to ensure its continuance today”.
