SEVEN CLUBS BENEFIT FROM IMPROVEMENT GRANTS

£5000 awarded in the last two years.

Seven Clubs have benefited in the second year of grants in the Facilities Improvement Programme receiving a total of £1650 to help with improvements in their clubs. The Management Committee has now allocated £5000 over two years to the scheme in which nine clubs received grants last year.

The clubs and their schemes this year include Maghull and Orrell both upgrading their toilet facilities; Wallasey and Rainford replacing and upgrading their outdoor spectator furniture; New Brighton to help with refurbishing a sightscreen; Wigan purchasing flat sheets to cover run-ups and Fleetwood Hesketh following the advice of the Grounds Committee, purchasing a Sorrel roller. In addition £100 was donated to the Opening Up Campaign, supported from its inception by the Liverpool Competition.

Alan Bristow, League Treasurer, said “We have tried to help as many clubs as possible with small grants, delivered without fuss. Nearly half have benefited from the scheme and we wish them well.”
