"Batting of the utmost coolness by Tom Hartley and Alex Mason steered Ormskirk to a two-wicket victory in Monday’s Royal London Club Championship quarter-final against Hanging Heaton. Needing 229 to  defeat the Bradford League side, Gary Knight’s men seemed to be cruising on 177-3 with 12 overs to bowl but the dismissal of the skipper began a collapse which saw five wickets fall for 30 runs in six overs.

However, Hartley and Mason pushed singles with the composure of old pro’s and the win was completed with eight balls to spare, Hartley finishing on 20 not out while Mason made an unbeaten six. Ormskirk now visit the Birmingham League side, Wolverhampton, a week on Sunday for a place in the final at Chelmsford on September 17".
