.......A FAITHFUL AND MULTI TALENTED SERVANT OF ALDER CC PASSES ON.

Alder CC is sad to report the recent passing of "Dave" Atherton after a long and debilitating illness. He was 79 years of age.

A Vice President, former President, Chairman and 1st XI Captain; Dave was an early member of Liverpool Nalgo (formed in 1958) a forerunner of the present Alder CC (from 2005).

Dave will be remembered for his commitment and dedication over many years both as a player and administrator. In particular he led the successful campaign in 1992 to prevent the grounds being sold off by the City Council.

He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and former colleagues at the club.

The funeral will take place on Monday 19th February at 2.30pm at Springwood Crematorium (Springwood Avenue, Garston, Liverpool L25 7UN) followed by a gathering at Huyton and Prescot Golf Club to reminisce
