OLD XAVS WIN THE 2018 TITTERSHILL SHIELD

An excellent game!

Old Xaverians 2nd XI today won the Sandy Tittershill Shield 2nd XI 45 over KO competition at SFX on a warm sunny day packed with supporters from both sides.

Old Xavs won the toss and elected to bat with contributions from Dominic Bramwell (33), Sen Stamper (56 -- 78 balls 8x4s) and Joseph Staunton (42) and Extras (40 inc 27 Wides) they reached a respectable 227/7 off their 45 overs, Rajiv Singh with 4/40 off his 9 overs the pick of the Sutton bowlers.

After tea Old Xavs took wickets on a regular basis with only Natalie Brown with a well constructed 71 (106 balls 9x4s) kept Sutton in the match, Sutton were eventually bowled out for 162 (Inc 28 extras of which 22 were wides) in the 40th over Old Xavs Sean Pattern 3/27 off 3.4 overs  and Lewis Barnes 3/43 off 9 overs were Old Xavs best bowlers. 

The Player of the Match was awarded by the umpires unanimously to Natalie Brown (Sutton St Helens) for her 71
