Liverpool Competition pleased to partner with the Liverpool Echo

ONE of the country’s oldest T20 competitions is set to return for 2022 –and its open for entries!

The LIVERPOOL ECHO KNOCKOUT CUP began in 1974 and, like the rest of us, was hit by COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021 - but it’s back!

This year’s competition is again to be organised and run by the Liverpool Competition and all the clubs who’ve taken part in the past few years will be entered into the draw.

They are: Ainsdale, Alder, Birkenhead Park, Birkenhead St Mary’s, Bootle, Burscough, Caldy, Chester Boughton Hall, Fleetwood Hesketh, Formby, Hightown St Mary’s, Liverpool, Maghull, Neston, New Brighton, New Victoria, Newton le Willows, Northern, Old Xaverians, Ormskirk, Oxton, Parkfield Liscard, Port Sunlight, Rainford, Rainhill, Sefton Park, Skelmersdale, Southport and Birkdale, Southport Trinity, St Helens Town, Sutton, Upton, Wallasey,Wavertree and Whitefield.

As usual and in order to enable clubs, players and umpires to have consistency in the various limited overs competitions played across Cheshire and Merseyside, the Echo Cup will continue to adopt the full ECB T20 playing rules including coloured clothing and pink balls.

This year the 2022 Finals Day will feature two semi-finals and a final and will take place in September at a venue to be decided

The draw will take place in early March.

Should  any of the clubs listed NOTwish to take part –or if any OTHER clubs are interested – they should contact Eddie Shiff on shiffnbcc56@live.co.uk by no later than Friday 25th February 2022.
