Winter Cricket in 2021/2022

The West Lancashire and Merseyside cricket societies begin their Winter speaker programmes next week, with the visit of Lancashire & England left arm spinner Stephen Parry.

Stephen will be speaking at West Lancs CS, which meets at Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club, on Wednesday 20th October and at Merseyside CS, who meet at Sefton Park CC the following evening.

Annual membership is open to all on payment of a modest fee*, whilst guests are also welcome and can pay on the door.

(*Different amounts for each society).

The rest of the Winter programme is as follows, with West Lancs meeting on the third Wednesday of the month and Merseyside the following night:

November Patrick Eager Cricket photographer, who covered 325 Test matches including 98 Ashes Tests, between 1965 & 2011.

December Harry Pearson Sports journalist & author who has twice won The Cricket Society/MCC Book of the Year award: in 2011 for “Slipless in Settle” & in 2018 for “Connie: The Marvellous Life of Learie Constantine”.

January Luke Sutton Former Somerset, Derbyshire & Lancashire wicketkeeper batsman, now an author and sports agent.

February Elizabeth Ammon The Times' cricket correspondent who has also written for The Guardian, The Independent & The Daily Mirror, as well as Cricket Monthly magazine & Wisden Cricket Monthly.
