St Helens Recs/Town mourn the loss of Collo
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brian Collins. Brian, known to all in St Helens and cricketing circles as ‘Collo’, died in hospital on Monday evening at the age of 76.
After initially playing for St Helens CC, he joined St Helens Recs in 1961 as a regular 1st team player becoming captain in the seasons 1971-73. He served as President from 1999 to 2003 before retiring to Spain for a period.
Brian was also well known in rugby league circles and was the St Helens ‘stats’ man for a number of years in the eighties and nineties.
Brian was the father of three daughters Jennifer, Susan and Jane to whom, together with their families, we convey our sincere condolences. The funeral will take place on Wednesday the 1st of May at 12-15 at Holy Cross Church, St Helens.
