L&DCC are delighted to open the above Tournament to entries. Booking is now live.
There has been additional complexity this year in planning our multi team events, due to the Covid measures currently in place. These have all been positively responded to and we are excited about the Programme on offer which, most importantly, will be played in a safe environment. We know it has been a long haul and that many of you are raring to go, so please see below and attached and we look forward to receiving your applications.

THE TOURNAMENT
The Tournament runs over 5 DAYS. The first 4 days are ‘GROUP’ STAGES. The top 4 placed teams will qualify for the FINALS DAY to be held on 6th SEPTEMBER. Your team will play in only 2 of the ‘Group’ days.
ALL MATCHES ARE 8 A SIDE
There will be 12 teams and across your two 'Group' Days you will play a total of 8 games (against 4 different opponents). Points accrued on Day 1 are taken forward to Day 2.
Teams need to be available to play on all of the 5 dates. When the fixtures are set you will be notified of the 2 dates you will play 'group' games and 4 of the teams, ultimately, will play a third day at Finals Day on 6th September.

INDIVIDUAL TEAMS WILL PLAY ON TWO OF THESE DATES:
1200-1600 16TH, 23rd, 30th, 31st AUGUST 2020

Groups will play in discrete bubbles of 30:
3 teams x 8 players
umpires x 2
Scorer x 1
Coaches x 3
There will be 2 separate groups of 30 at each of the venues, with the respective teams playing on their own pitch. The playing group is set at 8 for the day, meaning a squad or pool of players CANNOT be used for the various games that day. Different players can be used at subsequent Meets as long as they total a maximum of 8 on the day.

16th August - Northern CC
23rd August - Sefton Park CC
30th August - Southport & Birkdale CC
31st August - To Be Confirmed
6th September - Hightown St Mary's CC (FINALS DAY)
PAYMENT METHOD
The process of collecting team/club fees for W&G Cricket has changed this year and will follow the model introduced for the 2020 Indoor Tournament, in March. Competition fees will be collected direct from the clubs via their club statements. Once an application is submitted and there is space, this constitutes a booking and the fee becomes payable. Please make sure you have the full agreement of your club.
We are as confident as we can be that all of the planned activity will take place at the venues above, and on the dates stated. However, in the current circumstances, we need to point out that events locally or regionally may have a bearing on this and at short notice. We will though endeavour to re-schedule activities if faced with that scenario.
We will be following strictly all social distancing and hygiene protocols as prescribed by the ECB and the activities will be taking place in fully risk assessed settings. Everything that has been published to date by the ECB on this has been sent to all W&G contacts. Prior to each of the Meets, full information and instructions relating to the day will be sent out to the competing teams. This will covers spectators and will need to be transmitted to anyone in your party who wishes to attend.

Our Girls U15 Softball League will also be opening for entry and details will be sent to all W&G club contacts shortly.
New this year will be a hardball competition: 'SUPER 8'S' and is scheduled for September. The application process will be different for this and will not open until the Women's Softball Tournament gets underway.
