STATEMENT FROM THE L&DCC MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

The following email has been received by me, as Secretary of the League, from John Williams, Chairman, following his notification to the Management Committee yesterday ( Thursday 11th July)
Dear Chris and members of the L&DCC Management Committee
I write to confirm my intention stated yesterday at the Management Committee Meeting, to resign my position as Chairman with immediate effect
Having been notified personally by an individual of his intention to stand against me for the position of Chairman, which I understand and totally accept, it is my view that the issues and challenges facing our League, not to mention the day to day running of the league through to the end of the season and beyond, require certainty of leadership and direction. This cannot happen if the challenge to the Chairman’s position does not take place until January. The League and the Management Committee could be faced with uncertainty and inertia and will find its focus diverting from the important issue of the cricket.
Hence my decision. I will be standing again as I very much wish to carry on, but it is time for the Clubs to decide and then the League and its Management Committee will have an agreed way to take things forward.
