LOOKING FORWARD - NEXT SEASON

AGM Details and our plan.

 2021 – AGM – NEXT SEASON

All of us on the Management Committee sincerely hope that everyone is staying safe and managing to cope in these difficult and worrying times. We know through emails and calls from clubs as well as on Social Media that many clubs are finding new and wonderful ways of carrying on, as well as helping others, whilst we also know that some clubs are finding it extremely difficult. We hope that you stay strong as clubs as we are as a League.

Following the wise words of Benjamin Franklin we are now preparing for 2021 and whatever that brings and have a simple plan with two main actions:

1.To plan for a normal season in 2021.

This will involve:

  1. Rolling forward the fixtures planned for 2020
  2. A request to clubs to confirm/change/delete or add any special ground or other playing arrangements now required for season 2021.
  3. An AGM by Zoom represented by one individual per club on Tuesday 12 January 2021
  4. The AGM will have one proposal presented to the meeting as follows: That there be no change to the L&DCC Constitution and Playing Regulations in 2021 from those in existence in 2020. All elected officers on the Management Committee will have their terms of office extended by one year, as appropriate.
  5. The meeting will receive brief Officer Reports including a Financial Statement of Accounts as well as a full opportunity for views and questions.

2.As in 2020 to plan for an Adapted Season

            This will involve:

  1. End of January 2021 - A full appraisal of the prevailing situation with up to date information and guidance from the ECB and LCF and all other appropriate bodies.
  2. Reconvene the 13 strong Restart Group (Officers, Captains and Umpires) to assess the situation.
  3. If necessary set up a second Zoom Meeting with Club Representatives.
  4. Consider options for an adapted season – hopefully longer than in 2020 – taking account of key points in feedback for competitiveness and wider groupings etc.
  5. Communicate everything and stay flexible and available.

Finally, clubs will receive the calling papers for the AGM from Chris in December, together with all information relating to Zoom.

With all best wishes

Your Management Committee
