CALLING OF AN L&DCC SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING TO ELECT A CHAIR OF THE L&DCC: UPDATED

All Full Member clubs must attend under Regulation 12.1.1 Page 49 of Handbook 2019, it is hoped that Associate Member clubs will wish to attend as well.
A Special General Meeting ( SGM ) of the Full Member Clubs of the L&DCC is called to be held on Tuesday 13th August at 7.30 pm at Firwood-Bootle CC in accordance with the L&DCC Constitution Pages 47 and 48 Sections 7 and 8.
The single proposal to that meeting will be “to conduct an election for the now vacant post of Chair of the L&DCC for a period of time from the date of this meeting to the date of L&DCC AGM 2021, a period of circa seventeen months.”
A period of 14 days is set aside from the date of this SGM now being called for nominations to be received for the post of Chair of the L&DCC. Nominations for this post will close on Friday 26th July 2019 at 23.59pm.
Such nominations must be made in accordance with the L&DCC Constitution Page 47 Regulation 7.2.
The Management Committee of the L&DCC intends formally to propose John Williams for the post of Chair of the L&DCC under the terms of these regulations, subject to written confirmation of acceptance from John Williams for this nomination.
UPDATE 13/07/2019 : John Williams has confirmed in writing that (i) he is prepared to stand for the post of L&DCC Chair at this SGM meeting and (ii) is content to be proposed for this post by the Management Committee of the L&DCC (iii) John Williams has now been formally so proposed by Management Committee of the L&DCC.
There being no other nominations than that of John Williams for the post of Chair of the L&DCC by Friday 26th July 2019 at 23.59pm, the only candidate for this post at the SGM called for Tuesday 13th August at 7.30 pm at Firwood-Bootle CC will be John Williams. The full SGM will take place as planned to fulfill due process.
