Based on the historic patterns of entry in this competition the L&DCC now has seven entries in 2020, depending on how you look at it, out of the 33 leagues countrywide entering, that makes us either second or fourth highest in the country in terms of the total entries now allowed - see below.

A “no reply” will be taken as an indication that a club does not wish to be entered in the Royal London ECB Club Championship T40 in 2020
ECB will be collecting in the entries in September 2019 and the Draw for 2020 will be made in October 2019
The ECB's Letter:
“Following a review by the Leagues & Competitions Team after taking views from leagues and some clubs and players, ECB have announced that there will be a structural change to the way the Royal London Club Championship will be run from the 2020 season onwards. There is a desire to refocus the competition to be ‘best v best’ with the top teams from the ECB Premier Leagues being put forward to the competition each season.
This will result in a far more structured approach to which teams will be entered into the competition and will see the format reduced to 128 teams. Each ECB Premier League will be offered a number of places in the draw and this will be predominately based on the number of clubs that have entered from each league in previous seasons (calculated on entry numbers in 2017, 2018 and 2019).
It will at the gift of each league to determine who will get the places that have been allocated to that league, but it is expected that those finishing the highest league positions will be given a place in the follow years competition.
In addition to the ECB Premier Leagues, clubs within two non-ECB Premier Leagues (Bolton & Greater Manchester) have shown a high level of interest in entering into the competition over the years will also be offered places in the draw. For most of the other leagues that have had clubs previously entered, they are part of a feeder league to an ECB Premier League and will therefore no longer be offered a place in the draw, as will those standalone leagues with very few entries in previous years.
Finally, the winner and runner up of the competition will automatically be offered a place in the draw in addition to the allocation given to their league for the following season.

The reduction in the entry numbers into the Club Championship will coincide with an expansion of the Club T20 competition in 2020. The plan is the introduce a Plate Competition which will be for lower league clubs in the larger ECB Premier Leagues and also other Non-ECB Premier Leagues that run their own T20 competition. The Plate competition will mirror the Cup, with the winners of league T20 competitions progressing forward to the national stages of the competition.
