COMP PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME partnering with LANCASHIRE CRICKET FOUNDATION

14th Year for the scheme developing our young players.
The Liverpool and District Cricket Competition is all set to embark on the 14th year of its Player Development Programme in January. Aimed specifically at the Comp’s youngsters who took part in the Lancashire Inter-League Competition in 2022, this year’s programme is a joint enterprise with the Lancashire Cricket Foundation (LCF) delivered as part of their Development Centre Programmes.
Funded primarily out of the fines paid by Liverpool Competition clubs in the previous season, 96 boys and girls will receive quality coaching from the LCF and the Comp’s own coaches in 5 x 2 hour sessions at St Bede’s (Ormskirk) Sports Centre from January through to March.
Liverpool Competition Chair, John Williams, says the League is delighted with the arrangement. “We are very proud of our longstanding Programme, which, over the years, has enabled a huge number of young players to access and benefit from cricket development, and the link with the County is a perfect fit. Our players will receive coaching at Stage 4 and 5 of the Lancashire Development Programme, depending on their age”.
