HIGHTOWN 2nd X1

Removed from 2nd X1 Division 2

As member clubs will be aware the League has been in discussion with Hightown CC since early 2014 in an attempt to help them through a difficult period. This resulted in the placement of their 1^st X1 into Division 2.

We agreed with the club that we would monitor their participation at 2^nd X1 level as they did not know if they would be able to fulfil fixtures. It is now clear that they cannot and after the fourth conceded match last Saturday Hightown 2^nd X1 have been removed from 2^nd X1 Division 2 and all points applying to all their games have been removed from the league table.

Members of the Management Committee met with officials from Hightown CC on Tuesday 3 June to inform them of the above and also to discuss apparent information about ineligible players. The officials admitted to playing five ineligible players in two games in their 2^nd X1 and were fined in accordance with the rules and regulations for these breaches of regulations and warned as to their future behaviour. The club have not been fined for the conceded matches.

The continued participation in 2014 of the Hightown 1^st and 3^rd teams remains unaffected.
