LIVERPOOL ECHO CUP 2019 - UPDATE

DRAW TO BE MADE ON TUESDAY 26 MARCH AT THE LIVERPOOL ECHO. .

ONE of the country’s oldest T20 competitions is set to return for 2019 – and it’s open for entries.

The LIVERPOOL ECHO Knockout Cup began in 1974. Last year’s honours were taken by Bootle who beat Neston by six wickets in the final last August, thanks to a devastating opening burst from Will Purser, taking 4 for 6.

This year’s competition is again to be organised and run by the Liverpool Gin Liverpool Competition and all 37 clubs who’ve taken part in any of the past three years have been entered in the draw.

They are: Ainsdale, Alder, Aughton, Birkenhead Park, Birkenhead St Mary’s, Bootle, Burscough, Caldy, Chester Boughton Hall, Churchtown, Fleetwood Hesketh, Formby, Hightown St Mary’s, Irby, Liverpool, Maghull, Neston, New Brighton, New Victoria, Newton le Willows, Northern, Old Xaverians, Ormskirk, Oxton, Parkfield Liscard, Port Sunlight, Rainford, Rainhill, Sefton Park, Skelmersdale, Southport and Birkdale, Southport Trinity, St Helens Town, Sutton, Upton, Wallasey and Wavertree.

In order to enable clubs. players and umpires to have consistency in the various limited overs competitions played across Cheshire and Merseyside, the Echo Cup will, this year, adopt the full ECB T20 playing rules including coloured clothing and pink balls.

Should any of the clubs listed not wish to take part – or if any other clubs are interested – they should contact Eddie Shiff on shiffnbcc56@live.co.uk by no later than Friday, March 15th.

The draw, which will be regionalised up to the quarter final stage, will be made by the end of March.
