CONCLUSION : these incidents recorded above almost all involve dissent and abuse towards umpires, including two committed by team captains. The Management Committee is determined to put an end to this disrespectful behaviour.
In future, following the report of a disciplinary offence, bans of at least the minimum period given in the tariffs (Handbook pages 94-95) will be applied.
When a captain is the reported player at least one additional week will be applied.
Suspended bans, as a deterrent to a player offending again, will be in addition to any immediate bans and may extend beyond the normal 12 months period.
