NEIL EDWARDS RIP - updated

League Cricket Conference Secretary passes away.

It is with deepest regret that we report that after a recent illness, Neil Edwards passed away this weekend.

Neil was one of the best known administrators in the game of cricket and was Secretary of the League Cricket Conference, the ECB backed organisation for issues relating to the running of Leagues and Clubs in recreational cricket.

Neil was a member and great supporter of Formby CC, where he will be greatly missed and was a respected senior umpire in the Liverpool Competition and will be a great loss to the Merseyside Cricket Umpires Association.

Neil was a Gentleman in the true sense of the word, always willing to help others enjoy the game of cricket no matter whether players, officials, clubs or leagues.

We extend our sincere condolences to his wife Jean and their two daughters.

Funeral arrangements: Tuesday 18 August at 3.20pm at Southport Crematorium followed by the Gild Hall, Formby. All welcome.
