WEEK 9 : LEIGH GO TOP AFTER WIN OVER NORTHERN

Tightening up in Division 1.
Leigh have jumped to the top of the PREMIER Division after a 10 wicket win over Northern whilst Ormskirk won a thriller against Bootle by 3 runs. There were wins for Formby over Birkenhead Park and New Brighton at home to Colwyn Bay. Rainhill beat Rainford in the St Helens Derby by 5 wickets and Lytham and Wallasey were involved in a very closely fought draw.
In DIVISION 1 Fleetwood Hesketh gained ground with a win over Prestatyn whilst Orrell triumphed at Ainsdale and Newton Le Willows had a good win at Maghull. The remaining three games were drawn.
In DIVISION 2 Skelmersdale apparently won against Caldy (although there is no information on play-cricket!) to remain top with other wins for Southport Trinity by just 2 runs against Liverpool; Spring View at Parkfield Liscard; St Helens at Old Xaverians and Hightown St Mary’s at Sandy Lane against Wavertree. Alder and Sutton drew.
