New Brighton Ad to opening attack

New Brighton have bolstered their seam attack for the 2013 campaign by recruiting the highly-rated Lancashire second team bowler Adnan Ghaus.

The 22-year-old fast-medium bowler, who played nine matches for Old Trafford's second string in 2012, represented Drakes Huddersfield League team Delph and Dobcross last season but has now decided to further his career in the Premier League of the Bridging Finance Solutions Liverpool Competition.

"Adnan's brother plays for Maghull and it was he who made the initial approach to us," explained the Wirral club's newly-appointed skipper Louis Botes. "Adnan needs to bowl on good wickets and I think he liked the idea of playing at Rake Lane.

"He'll open the bowling and give our attack a little more impetus. We're very pleased that he's agreed to join us."
