Congratulations to NORTHOP HALL CC on winning the 1st XI TYLER CUP and to MERSEYSIDE SPORTS AND CULTURAL CLUB on winning the 3rd XI LEDDY CUP

Two great days cricket expertly hosted by Hightown St Mary's and Bootle CCs

MIKE LEDDY CUP at BOOTLE CC

In the First Semi-final of the Day Merseyside Sports & Cultural CC struck an early blow with a wicket off the first ball bowled of the day! Bootle CC never really recovered from this and were 98 all out in their allotted 18 overs, MS&CCC in reply scored 104/1 off 14.4 overs.

In the second Semi-Final, Northern CC won the toss and inserted Ormskirk CC who were dismissed for 81 in 18.1 overs, Northern CC got the required runs in 17.4 overs with 6 wickets down (84/6)

In dimming light and threats of rainfall, Both MS&CCC and Northern CC gave the spectators at Bootle an excellent final. Northern won the toss and inserted MS&CCC who amassed the highest score of the day 132 all out in 17.3 overs with S Varghese scoring 32  and Jay Jayarasuria 50.  In reply Northern started well with Jack Snaylam top scoring with 33 before Robin Raj bagged a Man of the Match performance with 5 wickets including a hat trick to end the match with Northern 30 runs short having scored 102 off 16.3 overs.

Thanks go to Bootle CC for hosting the event, to the Umpires, Craig Parkinson, Jim Lunn and Les Knowles, to Alan Majewska for operating the scoreboard throughout the day, to all the players and spectators who made it a wonderful day, and finally to LOVE LANE Brewery for the crates of beer for all the competing side today.
