URGENT MESSAGE RE REGISTRATION OF ALL OVERSEAS PLAYERS AND ALL NEW PLAYERS

Date: 23rd March 2022

Time is running out.

URGENT MESSAGE RE REGISTRATION OF ALL OVERSEAS PLAYERS AND ALL NEW PLAYERS

The posting on 18 March referred to “210 day rule” players and overseas players for 2nd and 3rd X1s, making it clear that failure to register such players by 31 March could not guarantee that they would be processed in time for the 12 midday deadline on 22 April.

Since that time (in just 4 days) we have received various phone calls, emails and texts from clubs with queries relating to International Sportsperson Visas (formerly T5s), Pathway checks, Standard Visitor Visa players, Women Overseas players, Non Visa Nationals, Student Visa Players and Leave to Remain players (refugees).

The current situation is that very few of the above category of players, have to date, been confirmed as registered on Play-Cricket, although we thank those clubs that have submitted forms and all the information they have to date, to Rob Durand.

In 2021 over 30 Overseas Players were registered in our League. The expected amount of work that this will bring, in addition to an abnormally high workload required of ECB Premier Leagues in preparing for the 2022 season, means that we cannot guarantee that ANY overseas player registrations submitted after 31 March  will be processed in time for the first match.

In addition we are aware through Social Media, the Liverpool Echo and word of mouth, of a significant number of new players intending to play for our clubs, including transfers within the League and transfers of players from other Leagues, both requiring transfer approval forms. To date we have received a mere fraction of what we believe the real number to be.

Therefore we give notice that we cannot guarantee that ANY new player registrations submitted after 11 April will be processed in time for the first match.
