The Love Lane Liverpool Competition’s young stars have done the league proud in the Lancashire Cricket Foundation Inter-League competitions.

Comp sides won the titles in three of the age groups, making 2025 the best year yet for the league.

Mark O’Connor’s U12s, Vish Maheshwari’s U13s and Matt Lawler’s U15s came top of the pile – the latter without losing a single game. ( Team pictured)

And there were strong showings too for the U14s, coached by Taylor Campbell and Martin Williams, the U17s, managed by the Comp’s junior chairman John Williams, and the U11s under Tim McKiernan.

The Comp’s quality is reflected by a record 17 players being picked among the best of their age groups, to play against Lancashire’s age group sides this week.

“I have a special mention for our U15s, they are an outstanding group.

“I am particularly pleased for all the coaches who make a massive commitment right through from the trials and the practice sessions to the matches finishing in August. They have been brilliant”

“All the lads progressing to the next stage deserve to be there and are a credit to their clubs.”
