L&DCC WOMEN & GIRLS CRICKET:** 2021 SEASON COMPETITIONS OPEN TO ENTRY **

BOOKING NOW LIVE

Dear All,

The W&G Sub Committee are delighted to announce that the expanded Competitions Programme for the 2021 Season is now open to entry and BOOKING IS NOW LIVE

This will include additional competitions in both softball - to cater for new entrant clubs who we will be welcoming this summer - and in hardball to meet the growing development needs of some of the more established teams.

As previously announced by the Management Committee, the League is planning for a FULL SEASON of cricket subject to guidance from the Government and ECB re Covid-19.

This season's W&G Programme is planned to start on the 9th May when the 2020 FINALS DAY, postponed from September last year, will be held. IT IS POSSIBLE  - BUT AGAIN NOT CONFIRMED - THAT OTHER COMPETITIONS MAY COMMENCE ON THAT DATE ALSO.

Please apply your choices underneath the specific competitions, laid out below. Please also complete contact information at base of that section and RETURN THIS EMAIL NO LATER THAN MONDAY 22ND MARCH 5.00PM.

We realise this is a short application window but one that is unavoidable given the timelines around the ROADMAP announcement by the PM, and the potential changes to guidance re Covid-19. We will then have work rapidly to organise a worked through plan for the season, including distribution of fixtures.

The Programme has been designed to provide for player and team progression and as such some of the start dates are staggered to allow clubs to decide whether, for example, they wish to compete in the Hardball Super 8s League after playing in the equivalent softball competition in the first part of the season, or 'step up' to playing T20 Hardball after playing Hardball Super 8's.

As such, for Women/Open Age, the 2 Hardball competitions will remain open for entry well into the first part of the season to allow for Softball teams to 'move up' to this format. If you are ready to join now, please complete this section. During the first part of the season, the Leagues will be further promoted and remain open for additional entries.

NOTE: Players wishing to play BOTH Softball and Hardball in the different competitions in 2021, can do so subject to eligibility criteria for ENTRY LEVEL SOFTBALL LEAGUE (see below)

ENTRY CRITERIA FOR THE SOFTBALL LEAGUE (8 overs) PAIRS ENTRY LEVEL

This competition is our ENTRY LEVEL offer. Clubs who are entering a Women's/Open Age team for the first time this year will enter at this level. Other teams, who have previously played, will also be able to enter but it is expected these will be development teams eg a second softball team where clubs have sufficient squad depth. It is also for teams who are more recent entrants and are possibly at an earlier stage of development.

NOTE:

GIRLS' U10 FESTIVALS - a number of these events will be held periodically in our area, over the season. If you are in a position to put your names down now please do, but there will be an ability to register for these right up to close to the event taking place.
