MAWDESLEY TAKE LL L&DCC WOMEN'S SOFTBALL LEAGUE TITLE 2021 IN FINAL DAY THRILLER

A great day's cricket in the sunshine!

The destination of the Women's Softball League trophy was not determined until the final day of action at Northern CC, this Sunday. After 9 teams had battled it out across 54 games and over 5 Meets, the first being in May, the final showdown saw Mawdesley win their final round of games and overtake Rainhill to claim the title.

Sunshine bathed the ground from ball one and was a fitting day to conclude a very successful year for the Comp's entry level female competition. There were many new faces and 2 new teams this season as the growth in participation in female cricket continues at a very rapid rate in our league, and it has been enormously encouraging to see the level of player progression across the season.

All the teams gathered at the end in celebration of a fabulous season, where all players received their medals. In conclusion, Mel Moores the Mawdesley captain came forward to collect the trophy giving way to joyous scenes as the team celebrated their achievement.
