ECB T20 and season 2021 Cup Participation and format

ECB T20 and cup format

You will be aware that, for the 2021 season, it has been decided that the main L&DCC's cup competitions will be played in the T20 over format (rather than the 45/40 over format) which will allow more cup fixtures to be played during the midweek evenings. The ECB Royal London National Cup and the LCF Lancashire Cup remain unchanged.

Clubs will be entered into the respective cups, Digman Trophy and Tyler Cup for 1st XIs, Chester Cup and Tittershill Cup for 2nd XIs and, for 3rd XIs, the Mike Leddy Trophy. The Chrysalis Cup and the Embee Cups will not take place this season.

All clubs will be entered unless they advise Rob Durand (http://rob.durand@btinternet.com) that they do not wish to take part and they must do this before 29 March.

As in the past, the opening rounds will be regionalised and use of pink balls will be preferred (but will be compulsory for the semi final round and Final). The hon Treasurer (Peter Fleetwood) has a large stock of pink balls and your club should contact him to arrange collection.

Entries are also invited at this time for the ECB T20 competition from club's 1st XIs outside of the Premier Division who are automatically entered. Entry requests, if you have not already done so, are to be made to Rob Durand by 29 March.

We are in discussion with the Liverpool Echo regarding the Liverpool Echo invitational cup and a further announcement regarding this will be made shortly.
