T20s - TEAS - 3rd X1s UPDATED with list of 3rd XI Games Annulled

Date: 19th May 2021

Important Information

Like everyone else, the League is pleased to reach Step 3 of the ECB COVID pathway and looks forward to further positive developments. At the Zoom meetings with Club Representatives we all recognised that the playing and support environment would necessarily change throughout this process and as we approach WEEK 5 we highlight three areas and decisions as a reminder to clubs:

T20 RULES AND REGULATIONS – for all matches (ECB and L&DCC) PLAYED IN 2021

The first round of the ECB T20 Competition is to be played by 31 May and we are aware that most are about to take place. As such we publish the link to the ECB Club T20 rules, updated in 2019, and reprinted in 2021 for Club officials, Captains and Umpires and everyone.

TEAS

We reproduce the previous posting on 15 March following on from the Zoom meeting with all clubs:

  • There is certainty that there will be no teas from 24 April until at least 17 May. Clubs were asked to vote on Teas thereafter.
  • Result 8 votes for Yes teas 28 votes for No teas. Therefore no teas will be provided for the 2021 season.
  • The current mandatory 30 minute break remains.
  • From 17 May (subject to National Hospitality regulations) The Home Club must ensure that Hot and Cold drinks are available for Players, Umpires and Scorers.

Footnote: This vote is valid for the 2021 season only. A further vote will need to be taken at the AGM in January 2022 for any permanent change, or not.

3rd X1s WEEKS 1 to 4 FIXTURES – CLARIFICATION

We reproduce the previous posting on 14 April, sent to all clubs:

3RD X1 SUNDAY FIXTURES – REVISED

The Restart Group meeting on Tuesday 13 April discussed at length, the issues raised in the 10 April posting and the views and comments from those clubs that replied, whom we thank. The Group believes that the League is well set for a full season for seniors, juniors and women’s and girls. Further clarification is needed on a couple of issues and a full Guidance Statement specifically dealing with rearrangement of fixtures through Covid or Car Sharing issues, will be sent out to clubs and posted on this site before the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Group changed the previous arrangement in respect of Sunday 3rd X1s from a start date of 23 May to Sunday 25 April, the original start date of the fixtures.

In the knowledge that some clubs had foreseen travel difficulties in the early stage of the season it was further agreed that participation in the first four weeks games was voluntary.

Clubs not taking part in any of these first four fixtures are asked to notify their scheduled opposition clubs by no later than Thursday 22 April.

Any games not played will not be replayed. The fixtures will be expunged. This provision also applies to any subsequent games not played for Covid or Car Share reasons. The 2021 season for Sunday 3RD X1s will be decided on the Points Percentage System (as adopted by the Rugby Football League, Super league in 2020 and 2021).

The games which did not take place (as opposed to games affected by the weather) are :-

Spring View 3 v Wallasey 4 (3rd XI Sunday Premier)

Liverpool Sunday v Wallasey 4  (3rd XI Sunday Premier)

Lytham 3 v Southport Trinity 3 (3rd XI Sunday Division One North)
