Updated Statement on Para 7.1.1.1, and Bootle v NLW.

This is the Statement issued to Merseyside Online in response to their request for a comment:

This is an unfortunate and regrettable situation.

It dates back to 2007 and the discovery of a player registration regulation that is no longer enforced by the ECB and is not followed by other ECB Premier Leagues, but has remained in the Liverpool Competition Regulations.

Given that the season had started, this was a time-sensitive issue. A full statement setting out the immediate and provisional actions to be taken, including acceptance and an apology for the error, was issued to all Full Member Clubs one week ago.

Maghull Cricket Club have now exercised their right to challenge our decision by calling for a Special General Meeting and we await further developments.
